Learn to capture amazing images of the world around you! In this class you will learn to see what is around you – not just look at it. You will learn about light and shadow and how to use them to make better photos, and how your choice of camera settings like ISO, aperture, and shutter speed can be used to create interesting effects and to capture depth, fast moving subjects, and more. You’ll also learn the basics of composition—the secret to better photos. Each day you’ll have a new photo challenge to capture an image of a particular type, such as a portrait, landscape, botanical, creative etc. You’ll analyze your images to determine the best shots, and then process them using Adobe Lightroom® and Photoshop®. By the end of the week you will have a deeper understanding of your camera and how to craft captivating images, and a small portfolio of your best photos.
We will be shooting on the first day,  so be sure to bring your digital camera with batteries charged (a dSLR with interchangeable lenses is preferred), your camera's charger, memory cards, a USB cable that connects your camera to the computer (or a USB card reader), your camera's User Manual (hard copy or pdf), and 1-2 flash drives (min. 64GB each) for storing your images.
