An introduction to Chicano/Latino cinema, this course also introduces students to the politics of representation while offerint an overview of Latina/o stereotypes in mainstream films. . Special attention will be given to the emergence of Latina/o-produced films, tracing the evolution of alternative aesthetic and narrative strategies. Satisfies ethnic studies and upper-division GE, category C1.
